How it works

Subject + Time Word + Verb + Object.

• 现在 (xiàn zài): now
• 需要 (xū yào): to need
• 帮助 (bāng zhù): help / assistance

Time word placement

Time words like 现在 (xiàn zài) must be placed either right before or right after the subject, but always before the verb. Never put the time word at the end of the sentence as you might in English.

Register

帮助 (bāng zhù) is a formal noun or verb for 'help' or 'assistance'. It is clear and direct, but less panicked than shouting 救命 (jiù mìng, save my life).
