¿Hay una farmacia cerca?
When to use
This is useful for finding a pharmacy, especially if you need medication or basic health supplies while traveling.
How it works
It uses the impersonal form of 'haber' ('hay' - there is/are) to ask about the existence of something. 'Cerca' means 'nearby'.
- ¿Hay: Is there
- una farmacia: a pharmacy
- cerca: nearby
Hay vs. Está
Use 'hay' (is there / are there) when asking if a place exists in the area. Use 'está' (is) when you already know a specific place exists and want to know its exact location.
Notes
Useful for minor health needs. Neutral everyday wording.
